Message to Japan: While many have contributed money to the Japanese people and their effort to restore some sense of normalcy to their lives, we hope that everyone can contribute a positive message of support over the coming months and years. なぜ８か？
毎月1回 3年間 メッセージを送ることは 計算上 ３６回になりますが ８は日本で“末広がり”と縁起のよい数字なので ６では なく ８を使いました。
KeepSmilingProject38は、3年間 合計 38回にわたり 日本の皆様に Smile を届け続けることを誓ったプロジェクトです。

KeepSmilingProject38 is committed to sending positive messages to Japan for 3 years.
Why the number 8?
“8” is written as “八” in Kanji. 八 is considered “末広がり(Suehirogari)" from its shape which widens toward the end. Suehirogari means to have greater and greater good fortune as time goes on. Thus, the number 8 is a lucky number in Japan.
Therefore, each month for 38 months, KeepSmilingProject38 will ask people to donate a Smile to the children and family of Japan.

メッセージを送りたいと思う方はどなたでも参加できます。日本にお住まいの方、海外にお住まいの方。国籍や在住先は問いません。メッセージを届けたいというお気持ちがあればどなたでも参加できます。

Anybody who wants to send a message to Japan can join the KSP38. It does not matter where you are from, or where you live. If you want to send a message from your heart, we would love to have you join us!!
